Located on a spacious 40 acre site, six miles east of Rhinelander on the Moens Lake Chain, between Sunset Lake and Second Lake, offers every opportunity for a fulfilling retirement lifestyle, today and everyday. WHAT WILL BE THE FUNCTION OF THE FACILITY? The facility will provide a place of residence where Senior Citizens of the area may age in place and live in an environment in which maximum self-determination, personal dignity, and sense of usefulness, may be achieved by the individual. It will provide social accommodations for these individuals, while at the same time serving the local community with specific senior citizen programs. Our continuum care retirement community offers the facilities, services and amenities that assure the dignity of independence and the peace of mind that come from knowing care is available, if it is required. WHAT SERVICES WILL THE FACILITY PROVIDE? * a place of residence and private accommodations for each resident * a research library of selected books * a banquet, meeting room and social facilities * a rich program of entertainment and activities in which residents may participate * transportation to all points of the city * a beauty/barber shop * a physician to serve as Director of Medical care for the residents. Special consultation staff available as needed * Assisted living and health care for your changing needs. WHAT PROGRAMS ARE PLANNED FOR THE FACILITY? Two specific programs will encompass all (senior citizens and families) and follow varied formats are planned as follows: * Senior activities program will consist of arts and crafts, such as weaving, ceramics, enamel on copper, painting, needlework, woodshops, other workshops, fishing and gardening. Residents may also serve on committees – Library, Reception, Hosts or Hostesses, Recreation, etc.. * Social Officers will provide special programs for the families of the Seniors. WHAT ROLE WILL LILAC VILLA PLAY IN THE COMMUNITY? Lilac Villa will enhance the community where it will be established. Senior Citizens will utilize its facilities for various programs and planned social activities. The Great Room will be available for drama groups to perform for the facility, recitals, Saturday night movies and other feasible entertainment. The facility will provide an economic-plus for the community and maintain a desirable balance in a total life program, which will meet the physical, cultural, social and spiritual needs of its Residents HOW ARE MEMBERS SELECTED FOR THE CORPORATION AND ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS? The Corporation is comprised of a Board of Directors elected by the voting members. Voting membership is granted to the Officers and Directors of Lilac Villa, Inc. by the Chairman of the Board. Supporting bodies working with the Corporation to supplement its fund-raising efforts are: local clergy and community leaders; and a Volunteer Auxiliary to assist the Corporation in all phases of its fund-raising efforts and various services in the facility. HOW IS THE FACILITY BEING FINANCED? Lilac Villa is financed solely through the contribution of individuals, businesses, private organizations, foundations and grant giving agencies, and endowments.
